Senior Manager, Risk-Based Inspection
Singapore, SG
Are you looking for a career in an inspiring, global environment where your expertise makes a difference? At Neste, you will be working for the world’s leading producer of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel, which enable our customers to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Neste operates renewable and oil refineries on three continents. Keeping them running safely — and knowing with confidence when and how to inspect every critical vessel, piping circuit, and heat exchanger — requires more than local expertise. It requires a global standard, consistently applied.
That standard is yours to define.
Senior Manager, Risk-Based Inspections
As Senior Manager, Risk-Based Inspections, you will own Neste's global inspection framework — the standards, requirements, and performance metrics that determine how mechanical integrity is assessed and assured across all refining locations together with renewable and oil product business units. You will be the company's technical authority on inspection methodology, ensuring that inspection resources are deployed where risk is highest and that every site has a clear, evidence-based picture of equipment health.
You will be part of the global Reliability & Asset Integrity team within the Refining Competence Center, working closely with site inspection teams, refinery operations, maintenance and investment projects. The role is located at one of Neste's production sites — Porvoo, Rotterdam, or Singapore — with occasional international travel.
What do you will do
-
Define, own, and continuously improve Neste's global standards and frameworks for risk-based inspection of static equipment — pressure vessels, piping systems, and heat exchangers, in cooperation with renewable and oil products business units
-
Advise on inspection methods in non-standard and technically complex situations; bring new inspection technologies and approaches into Neste based on industry benchmarking
-
Set and govern inspection performance metrics; provide senior leadership with a clear and reliable view of mechanical integrity status across the refinery network
-
Build and maintain a global network of inspection stakeholders; drive consistent standards and a strong integrity culture across regions and organisational layers
-
Collaborate cross-functionally with refinery engineering, operations, HSSE, and commercial teams to ensure inspection programmes support both safety and business objectives
-
Contribute to projects and programs that need expertise and resources of risk-based inspection.
-
Lead corrosion management governance by defining global corrosion strategies, monitoring programs and degradation control measures.
-
Drive capability‑building initiatives across inspection, corrosion and static equipment engineering teams, strengthening RBI competence throughout the organisation.
What you bring
-
10+ years of hands-on experience in inspection engineering within the petrochemical or high-hazard process industry — with the ability to connect technical depth to practical decision-making
-
Proven expertise in risk-based inspection methodology (API 580/581 or equivalent); experience leading or governing RBI programmes at a senior level
-
Strong command of pressure equipment codes and standards applicable across multiple regulatory jurisdictions
-
A track record of influencing and building alignment across multiple sites, functions, and levels of an organisation
-
High commitment to safety — not as a compliance requirement, but as a personal and professional value
-
Results-oriented and analytically rigorous, with the judgement to make sound integrity decisions under operational and commercial pressure
-
Fluent English; strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
-
Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
Additionally valued
-
National or international inspection qualification at the highest level (e.g. API 510/570/580 certification, authorised inspector status)
