Neste Netherlands is part of the Finnish parent company Neste. The Sluiskil refinery focuses on pretreatment of raw materials (waste & residue streams) to make them suitable for further catalytic conversion. Together we are working everyday to operate, maintain, and improve the plants in an efficient and safe manner.
We are hiring a Process Engineer to join our Sluiskil team.
Your part in the Neste journey
In your role as the Process Engineer you are responsible for the development and optimisation of the current and future production processes in Sluiskil in order to ensure compliant, safe, reliable and efficient operations. You will work in an international and dynamic environment, collaborating with teams over different functions (research and development, supply chain management, logistics, operations, etc.). You will drive the development of the Sluiskil site within Neste’s strategy by proactively scouting for new opportunities.
About the role

Responsible for all process engineering related activities such as unit performance monitoring, development of improvement ideas, shut-down and start-up support during planned and unplanned events, etc.

Provide technological, raw material and product-related knowledge in developing and executing new projects.

Provide technical instructions and transfer knowledge and insight to other employees (written procedures and instructions).Technical expert of the unit.

Support or lead investigations to identify root causes of process upsets, deviations and incidents.

Conduct risk assessments and give technical support on plant related process issues or changes made to the facility processes and equipment
-
Provide support with respect to permit applications and compliance issues.

Arrange tests and data gathering, assess the test results in terms of technical production opportunities and potential safety and environmental impact.

Participate in HAZOP’s and in investment proposal definitions

Drive Operational Excellence projects

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is:

Master’s degree in process or chemical engineering
-
Work experience as operating engineer or process engineer min. 2 years

Knowledge and experience with projects
-
Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus

Fluent in English and Dutch
