We are looking for you, Turnaround Manager, to join our Maintenance team at our refinary at the Maasvlakte 2.
Neste Netherlands is part of the Finnish parent company Neste. The plant in Rotterdam produces renewable fuels. Together, we are working every day to operate, maintain, and improve the plant in an efficient and safe manner. The Neste Rotterdam refinery focuses on safe, compliant, reliable, and sustainable production and continuous improvement projects. The Maintenance Department is responsible for advanced maintenance systems, daily works, major Turnarounds (TA), and catalyst change-outs. The overall responsibility of the department is to maintain the plant and the supporting facilities according to legal and industry standards in a cost-efficient manner.
The purpose of the TA Manager’s position is to develop and lead the Rotterdam TA team and to continuously improve TA performance. You will be responsible for the safe execution of the TA program within approved premises and meeting the business objectives. This is a high-impact leadership role with a financial and operational dimension between €25 - 100 MM (TA cost and production impact). The TA team manages the 6-yearly major TAs (for each production line) and the dedicated yearly catalyst changes. During TA execution, the team grows to around 50 people, managing over 900 people at the peak of construction.
The role includes the following responsibilities:
- TA Strategy and Organization:
- Develop and lead the Rotterdam TA team.
- Define the long-term TA Strategy in close cooperation with other relevant disciplines to meet business objectives.
- Ensure the right competencies and resources are available/developed to plan and execute the Rotterdam TA program, including all major TAs and catalyst changes.
- Build one ‘cohesive’ TA team which cooperates effectively with other disciplines/functions.
- Cooperate with Neste’s TA Center of Excellence (TACOE) to continuously improve Rotterdam’s TA performance and globally share learnings and best practices.
- TA Planning and Execution:
- Ensure TAs are prepared and executed in accordance with Neste’s TA Governance and TA Manual and meet regulatory requirements.
- Ensure safe execution of TAs, while meeting the schedule, cost, and quality targets.
- Pro-actively cooperate with other disciplines (Maintenance, Projects, HSSE, Procurement, etc.) to ensure integration and alignment of TA planning and execution.
- Responsible for TA budgeting and costs performance against approved budgets.
- Ensure adequate reporting during all TA phases at different levels (e.g., TA Core Team, Steering Team and above).
- TA Contracting:
- Develop long-term TA partnerships for key disciplines to secure resources and to jointly improve TA performance over multiple TAs.
- Ensure compliance to contractor HSE management process.
- Member of Maintenance Leadership Team:
- Participate in the Maintenance Leadership Team (LT), contributing to the Maintenance strategy and plans.
- Cooperate effectively with LT colleagues to continuously improve site maintenance performance.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
